SHARON RUSHWORTH

FUNDING AND GRANTS LEAD

Sharon brings a powerful blend of personal insight and professional expertise to her role as Trustee. Someone who has navigated life with ADHD and now helps care for her neurodivergent grandson, she has a deep, firsthand understanding of the joys and challenges of neurodiversity.

Professionally, Sharon is a seasoned grant writer and fundraiser: in 2001 she coordinated a £1 million government–funded programme in Bradford – and in 2006 helped evolve that initiative into a thriving Community Interest Company, serving as a Director alongside her fellow board members until retiring.

Through partnerships with schools, churches and community groups  she has crafted hundreds of successful funding bids, developing initiatives to achieve a wide variety of community outcomes. Sharon was also seconded to the National Lottery, using her expertise to advise groups applying for a lottery funding stream in Northern England, ensuring successful bids were written.

She is also a qualified Social Worker and Teacher.

At home in Hunmanby, Sharon lives with her husband, David and their beloved menagerie of animals. They have two grown sons, and three grandchildren.
