Young Voices Network
Young minds. Big ideas. Real influence.
Young people are not just participants at Havenswood – they are one of our greatest assets, helping to shape ideas, influence decisions and build the future of our community. Our Youth Voice group gives children and teenagers (age 9-19) the opportunity to share ideas, experiences and perspectives, so that Havenswood continues to grow in ways that genuinely reflect the needs of the people we are seeking to help.
This steering group brings together young people who want to have a say in how Havenswood develops. Members will help us think about new programmes, review activities, and suggest ideas for the future. Their views will help shape our policies, projects and long-term vision.
Groups are small, relaxed and supportive so that everyone feels comfortable contributing in their own way. Ideas can be shared through discussion, creative activities, written suggestions or simple voting. What matters most is that their voices are heard.
The Youth Voice group will help us to:
• design activities and programmes that young people genuinely enjoy
• improve the way we support neurodivergent children and teenagers
• make Havenswood spaces welcoming, accessible and inclusive
• develop new ideas for our future community village
• represent the views of young people in conversations with partners, funders and local decision makers
Members of the group will also gain valuable experience in leadership, teamwork and community involvement. Being part of our Youth Voice can help build confidence and give young people the opportunity to influence something meaningful in their community.
Sessions take place periodically throughout the year and include creative activities, discussion and the opportunity to help shape real decisions.
If you are a young person who would like to be involved, or a parent who thinks your child may enjoy taking part, please contact us for more information.
