The Haven Early Days Unit
Giving families the right support from the very start of their SEND journey.
Our Early Days Unit will deliver targeted, early intervention at nursery level, ensuring families receive the right support at the right time. By addressing needs before they escalate, we can give children the best possible start and reduce the risk of exclusion and problems later on in school life.
The Unit will provide a welcoming, homely facility where families can access tailored support from the moment concerns arise. Children with identified needs can attend small therapy groups, with a strong focus on communication, sensory needs, social development and integration. Families and carers will be offered practical guidance, therapies, and workshops to build skills, understanding, and confidence at home and in social environments.
The Unit will also work in partnership with local nurseries, health visitors, and early years professionals to provide outreach and share best practice, ensuring children receive consistent support, so facilitating easier transition into mainstream or specialist settings. Early intervention in a child’s development can ease future challenges, prevent exclusions, and ensure every child has the best opportunity to flourish.

Reaserch-Based Care
Research consistently shows that early intervention makes a significant difference for neurodivergent children and their families. Studies highlight that when children and families receive timely therapies, guidance, and consistent strategies across home and early education settings, outcomes are stronger and more sustainable.
Early intervention not only supports children’s learning and wellbeing, but also empowers parents, giving families the tools and confidence to navigate their SEND journey with greater resilience from the very start.
