The Haven Early Days Unit
Safe Space and professional support for children 2-5 years
Giving families the right support from the very start of their SEND journey.
The Haven Early Days Unit will deliver targeted, early intervention at nursery level, helping to make sure that families receive the right support from the very start of the education journey. By addressing needs before they escalate, we can give children the best possible start and reduce the risk of exclusion and problems later on in school life.
Working in partnership with experienced care providers, the Haven will provide a welcoming space where families can access support from the moment differences are noticed. Children with identified needs can attend small therapy groups, with a strong focus on communication, sensory needs, social development and integration. Families and carers will be offered practical guidance, therapies, and workshops to build skills, understanding and confidence in how to manage at home and in social environments whilst they await CAMHS assessment and formal diagnosis.
The Haven will work in partnership with local nurseries, health visitors, and early year professionals to provide outreach and share best practice, ensuring children receive consistent support, so facilitating easier transition into mainstream or specialist settings.
“It’s not just about addressing challenges; it’s about unlocking potential. By supporting children as early as possible, we give them the strongest possible foundation for lifelong success.”
