From May 1st 2026HAVENSWOOD Sensory Library & Shop
Our Sensory Library gives children, young people and families the chance to borrow sensory items to try at home before spending money on expensive equipment. Many sensory products are costly, and what works well for one person may not work at all for another. It helps to explore different options in a practical, low-pressure and affordable way. Alongside our Sensory Library, our small shop offers a carefully selected range of affordable, everyday sensory and regulation items for families to purchase.
Currently open at our Friday morning Cuppa & Connect sessions at Unit 27 ( Floor 2) The Street Community Centre, on the first Friday of the month, 10-11.30am.

❋ How it works
Come and browse our available items, borrow them for a short period, and try them out at home. We will provide simple guidance on safe use where needed, particularly for weighted items and other specialist resources.
All returned items will be checked, cleaned and prepared before being loaned again.
We employ strict, cleaning policies and all items undergo a risk assessment before being added to the library.
Our range of items will expand over time as the library develops, so please bear with us as we continue to grow. Also…If there’s anything that you think we should stock, please let us know.
With grateful thanks to our funders - The Scarborough Lions - for helping us stock our library.
SENSORY SHOP
While the library allows you to try larger or more specialist equipment, our shop focuses on the smaller, lower-cost items that are regularly used and often needed day-to-day. These are the tools that children and young people may rely on for comfort, focus, regulation and reassurance both at home and in school.
We know that families are often left searching for the right items, unsure what to buy or where to start. Our shop removes that uncertainty by offering a trusted, thoughtfully chosen selection of products that we know can make a real difference.
Items may include fidget tools, chew aids, small sensory supports, calming resources and other practical items that are easy to use, accessible and helpful in everyday life.
Our aim is simple - to make sensory support easier to access, more affordable, and less overwhelming for families.
