Mix & Make Kitchen
Mix & Make Kitchen
Mix & Make Kitchen is part of our Safe Spaces Project and is a relaxed, hands-on cooking and baking group where children and young people can learn practical life skills in a calm, supportive environment.
Together we'll mix, measure, bake, cook and create a variety of simple recipes while building confidence, independence and teamwork.
Along the way, participants will naturally develop skills in communication, problem-solving, following instructions, maths and healthy eating - all through enjoyable, real-life activities.
There is no pressure to be perfect. Everyone is encouraged to work at their own pace, try new things and celebrate their achievements, whether they're making their very first batch of biscuits or preparing a family meal.
All sessions are led by appropriately trained staff who hold relevant food hygiene and food safety qualifications, ensuring activities are delivered safely and in line with current food safety standards. Individual dietary requirements, allergies and medical needs will be considered when planning activities wherever possible.
At Havenswood, we believe the kitchen is about much more than food. It's a place to connect, create, gain confidence and develop lifelong skills in a safe and encouraging space.
