Havenswood Climbers

Our climbing community offers a welcoming and supportive space for young people aged 8–15 years to come together, build confidence and make genuine friendships through shared adventure.

Held on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Sundays of each month at The Street Community Centre in Scarborough, sessions are intentionally kept small to create a calm, low-pressure environment where children can feel safe and comfortable without sensory overwhelm. Climbing provides a natural way to develop resilience, problem-solving skills and self-belief, while also encouraging teamwork, communication and social connection. Whether participants are new to climbing or already enjoy it, the focus is on belonging, encouragement and having fun together while growing in confidence both on and off the wall.

All sessions are supervised by qualified belayers who are also experienced in caring for, supporting and teaching children with neurodiverse profiles.
